GTC Nutrition to distribute omega-3 in US and EU

Australian omega-3 supplier, Nu-Mega has appointed Colorado-based GTC Nutrition as distributor for its fatty acid powders and liquids portfolio in the Americas and Europe.

Nu-Mega, whose flagship ingredient is a DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) ingredient is called HiDHA, will retain direct relations with some existing multinational clients and continue to service the Asian/Oceania markets from its Australian base.

Clover Corporation-owned Nu-Mega said the agreement placed it in a position to “aggressively participate in the increasing global demand for nutritionally important natural oils and value-added functional food ingredients”.

It supplies omega-3 forms to the infant formula, dietary supplements and functional foods markets.

“We have seen a significant increase in sales to Asia over the past year. As we implement a multi-year plan for growth the appointment of GTC Nutrition as our exclusive distributor and agent in the America’s and the EU makes us equally confident that the market opportunity in these regions will be just as exciting for Nu-Mega Ingredients,”​ said Clover Corporation chief executive officer and managing director, Dr Ian Brown.
