Milk Link has opened a £1.4 million speciality cheese packing unit at its creamery in Malpas, Cheshire, to meet the exacting standards of retailers.

The unit specialises in cutting and packing traditional farmhouse cheeses from a wide range of small scale producers. Investing in the packing unit will enable the cheese manufacturer and dairy co-operative to cut, pack cheeses for major retail customers.

“Customers such as Waitrose expect very high standards when it comes to packing the food they sell – using Milk Link’s expertise and the latest technology available, they can have confidence that we will meet those standards,” said Mark Frankcom, director of the speciality cheese unit at Milk Link.
