There are numerous ways for food manufacturers to take advantage of trendy Greek yogurt, says Sharon Gerdes, a senior account manager at the US Dairy Export Council.

Greek yogurt has become a major trend in the United States, particularly over the past year, as consumers have been increasingly attracted to it for its creamy, indulgent taste, as well as its healthy nutrition profile.

Speaking to FoodNavigator-USA at the IFT expo in New Orleans, Gerdes said there are opportunities for food makers to tap into the trend by including Greek yogurt in a wide variety of applications, including baked goods, drinks, sauces and more.
