Chinese dairy giant Mengniu has reported a drop in both revenue and profits for 2012 – a result it has attributed to continuing consumer concern about the quality and safety of domestically-manufactured dairy products.
Chinese dairy giant Mengniu Dairy Co. has denied a claim that live worms were found in a carton of its milk, stating that it would be “impossible” for the creatures to survive its heat-treatment processes.
Arla Foods looks set to strengthen its presence in the Chinese dairy market and boost exports after signing a wide-ranging agreement with dairy giant Mengniu.
Chinese dairy giant Mengniu intends to source 100% of its raw milk supply from large-scale farms and ranches by 2015 - “eliminating” its association with small dairy farms.
