Serac Inc president, Acyr Borges, explains why the company's recently launched Combox blow-fill-cap machine, which has a maximum output of 12,000 bottles per hour, is garnering interest from multinational dairy processors as well as small- to medium-sized businesses.

Speaking with DairyReporter.com at the International Dairy Show in Chicago last week, Serac's US chief Borges said that despite the Combox being a relatively small machine, it was not designed purely for small- to medium-sized dairy processors.

"It's not only designed for small or medium companies," said Borges, "it's more for small or medium production rates or volumes."

"Not all the products from our customers mean big volumes."

"There are a lot of premium products that have small volumes and this is why even big companies have been interested in this machine," Borges added.

Serac Inc was at the International Dairy Show in Chicago to launch the Combox into the North American market. The technology was initially launched in Europe in September at Drinktec in Munich.
