Arabian Can Industry has joined Empac, European Metal Packaging association as its second international associate member.

The company, based in Dubai, UAE, specialises in 3-piece metal can manufacturing for the food industry with facilities for tinplate high-tech printing, coating and manufacturing of built cans and components.

As part of The Al Ghurair Group of Companies, it produces around 160 million cans and employs 140 people. The company started exporting to the wider Middle East, Africa, Sri Lanka and India in 2003.

Joining Empac will help us better understand the trends in the European metal packaging market and its current laws and regulations,” said Neil Houghton, GM, Arabian Can Industry.

I am confident this will bring us mutual benefits in sharing information, and add to the development of the metal packaging industry in the Middle East and North Africa.”

The first international associate member to join Empac was Jamestrong Packaging Australia & New Zealand in March 2015.
