Smurfit Kappa opens second Bag-in-Box Experience Center
The Experience Center opened last month as part of this year’s 40th anniversary of its Bag-in-Box division and is the second one after Ibi, in Spain.
18 in total
The centre brings the total number of Smurfit Kappa Experience Centers to 18 with its Global Experience Centre in Schiphol, Amsterdam.
Dominique Gessat, GM, Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box Epernay, said customers can evaluate all the processes of production at the center and see the standards it has adopted for Bag-in-Box over the years.
“Our production plants are certified worldwide, recognised for their modern equipment and strict procedures to ensure with food packaging regulations,” he added.
The Experience Center serves as a place for customers to get hands-on experience of the spectrum of capabilities offered by the Bag-in-Box technology.
It includes the latest technology, laboratory, interactive displays of the films, taps and boxes and technical expertise.
Veronika Necasova, Bag-in-Box marketing department, Smurfit Kappa, said the center will not employ any additional people.
'Complete journey'
“It is a new way of welcoming customers to our plant, offering them a complete “journey” about Bag-in-box, from the production through to quality testing and filling to the market applications,” she said.
“Customers will be able to see the bag production machines, the filling machines and laboratory machines to see how we test our bags.”
