In 2017, China was also one of the world's largest importers of dairy products, according to GTA data, in particular butter and fats, SMP and WMP.
China is one of the largest importers of Polish dairy products from outside the EU, with the main export product being whey.
Promotion of products
The Milk Treasures program covers the promotion of selected Polish dairy products, mainly flavored milk, powdered milk, yogurts and ripened cheese.
The main purpose of the program is to increase the acceptance of Polish products and to create a desire to purchase them by establishing relationships with potential business partners and distribution of information on how dairy products are produced in Poland.
The promotion of Polish dairy products in China will be through participation in exhibitions and events, business missions and direct business meetings, and information in the press and online.
The Polish Chamber of Milk also assists Polish companies looking to export their dairy products to China.
It recently announced a two-part training program in Warsaw, which includes information on Chinese food safety laws and the state of the dairy market in China.
