Adecoagro, an agro-industrial company in South America, has submitted an investment proposal to partner with Argentinian dairy company SanCor to develop and expand the business.

The offer is subject to the approval of the constituent members of the SanCor cooperative.

Under the terms of the offer, SanCor will contribute with selected operational facilities, brands and employees, while Adecoagro will bring raw milk production and finances.

Adecoagro is the largest raw milk producer in Argentina, producing more than 270,000 liters of raw milk per day.

Expanding operations

Adecoagro said over the last 20 years, milk production in Argentina has remained stable compared to the sustained growth experienced in the region, and has an opportunity to add value to its raw milk production.

For the export market, there is the possibility of producing high value-added products, such as infant formula; and, domestically, there is an opportunity to strengthen brand names, and enhance distribution and logistics, Adecoagro said.
