Two events set for Africa have been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.

The 16th African Dairy Conference & Exhibition, which was to have taken place from August 27 to 29 in Kampala, Uganda, has now been rescheduled at the same venue to March 24 to 26, 2021.

The International Dairy Federation’s flagship conference, the World Dairy Summit, which was to have taken place in Cape Town, South Africa, from September 28 to October 1, has now also been cancelled due to Covid-19.

In a video on the IDF website, Melt Loubser, president of the South African National Committee for the IDF, said the global restrictions on travel have had a devastating impact on normality with no indication of when these will be lifted.

Loubser said those affected will be contacted by the event organizers to arrange refunds, and he hoped that South Africa would be able to host the event in the future.
