Frischpack Group investing in the future

The Frischpack Group, comprising Frischpack GmbH in the Bavarian town of Mailling and Baackes & Heimes GmbH in Viersen, North Rhine-Westphalia, is continuing to invest in the future.

This year it is focusing on its Viersen plant. To meet the increased demands of its discount supermarket partners for products to fill their refrigerated section, the company is currently expanding its range of pre-packaged products. It will have a new cheese packing and cutting machine installed in its company in May of this year.

Alongside this, the creative cheese staff at the Viersen plant have modified their logo and website in line with Frischpack in Mailling.

While the Frischpack logo symbolizes a yellow cheese slice packed inside a green frame, Baackes & Heimes now appears with a yellow cheese slice surrounded by a red frame.

"We are extremely pleased with our new look & feel and are maintaining our established red as a recognition feature,"​ said Stefan Welter, managing director of Baackes & Heimes.

"By joining together with Frischpack, we can rely on decades-long, comprehensive expertise when it comes to cheese, a win-win situation for both us and for our customers."

While the plant in Mailling has been manufacturing in a climate-neutral manner since 2020 and will be publishing its third sustainability report this year, the corporate goal is to also achieve this for the Viersen plant.

With this in mind, Baackes & Heimes has joined with a certified partner from the field of climate neutrality in order to firstly commit to the same climate projects supported by Frischpack. As a result, both corporate sites have now been operating climate-neutrally since the start of 2021.

Secondly, an energy and environmental management system certified in accordance with DIN ISO ISO 2018 and ISO EN ISO 2015 is planned. The preparations should be completed by the end of this year.

“We have set our sights on 2023 as the year when we will be presenting our first joint sustainability report for the Frischpack Group as a whole,”​ Dieter Baur, managing director of the Frischpack Group said.

“We are therefore continuing steadfast along our chosen path and investing in the future of our employees and customers.”
