Kerrymaid, a part of Kerry Group, has launched Perfect Melt Vegan Slices, a plant-based alternative to cheese aimed solely at professional kitchens.

With more consumers demanding vegan options, this new product from Kerrymaid allows the pub & leisure, catering, hospitality and foodservice industries to offer a dairy alternative.

Designed specifically for use on hot applications such as burgers, subs, wraps and sandwiches, the product was created to melts and look like dairy cheese.

In addition to the sensory benefits, other key considerations were speed, ease of use and simple handling requirements for the QSR environment.

The product will soon be available across the UK and Europe in pack sizes of 56 easy-peel slices.

Deirdre Smyth, VP global RDA integrated technology systems, at Kerry said, “Kerry’s dairy heritage along with our processing capabilities and technical expertise means we’re uniquely placed to create a product which provides the great taste, texture, melt and structure that people associate with a dairy processed cheese slice. We want to help our customers ease into vegan and grow their revenue by offering a wide range of products to suit everyone’s needs.”

Made from sustainable coconut oil, the product is gluten free, palm oil free and vegan approved by the Vegetarian Society.

To support the launch, Kerrymaid is hosting a virtual event, ‘Up Your Vegan Game’ on May 27 to help businesses ease into vegan.

Attendees will discover what works best in the professional kitchen, including how to create their own vegan menu. There will also be a live cooking demonstration.
