Indian company Divi's Nutraceuticals has launched CaroNat, a naturally-sourced food ingredient intended for the dark yellow to orange coloration of a variety of foods and beverages including the dairy industry.

CaroNat is made from concentrated carrot juice and contains beta-carotene. Consisting only of ingredients of natural origin and manufactured without the addition of silicon dioxide, CaroNat said it supports brands in their transition to clean labels. CaroNat contains only plant-based ingredients and allows claims such as no artificial color, vegetarian and vegan.

Divi's said its production process allows the stabilization of the natural ingredient in fine powder form for ease of handling and stability. The company said CaroNat is suitable for applications such as beverages, instant drinks, yogurt, gummy candies, cakes, puddings, frozen desserts and more.

Divi’s said due to the equalization of the beta-carotene, CaroNat provides uniform, natural coloration to food preparations, is stable during food processes such as pasteurization, cooking, etc. and exhibits good dispersibility in beverage applications.

CaroNat is available year-round because of a production process that compensates for seasonal variations.

Divi’s Nutraceuticals is a global manufacturer and supplier of more than 80 forms of carotenoids and vitamins. It was founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of Divi’s Laboratories, a global supplier of active pharmaceuticals (APIs) and intermediates.
