It’s National Chili Month in the US, and Graeter’s Ice Cream is re-launching its Skyline Spice Ice Cream in partnership with chili restaurant Skyline Chili. Skyline Spice Ice Cream is now back for a limited time and available online for nationwide shipping and in all Graeter’s scoop shops and Skyline restaurants. Part sweet, part savory, Skyline Spice Ice Cream combines Graeter’s ultra-small batch French Pot ice cream with crunchy oyster crackers and Skyline’s chili spice blend.

And in the UK, plant-based food brand Rude Health released two premium Barista milk alternatives: Barista Pistachio and Barista Hazelnut.

The clean-label drinks are made with real roasted nuts and also contain oats, a pinch of salt, and water. The new releases reflect demand for products that re-create coffeeshop experiences at home and perform well in both hot and cold drinks.

Bertel Haugen, head of innovation and sustainability at the Oddlygood Group, said on LinkedIn the R&D team “wanted to make the most luxurious nutty barista milks in the market”.

“Rude Health has product pillars that we stick to, including only using kitchen cupboard ingredients. For Pistachio Barista especially, this was a big challenge because we didn’t want to use flavouring.

“We tried using pistachios on their own, but they weren’t delivering enough flavour. So we decided to build a platform for the pistachios to sing, using roasted almonds and hazelnuts. The result is the creamiest, nuttiest, most delicious barista milk we’ve ever made.”

The products retail at Waitrose & Partners for £3.95.
