Lifeway, Breyers and Horizon Organic all feature in our latest new product development round-up

Early 2026 has seen a spree of new product releases across all major dairy and alt dairy categories.

Innovation in refrigerated creamers has accelerated this month after the segment continued to expand at pace in the past year.

In another major retail trend, plant-based milk brands continue to respond to consumer demand for clean-label formulations.

And while interest in health and wellness dominates the headlines, decadence and indulgence remain crucial in categories such as frozen desserts. In 2026, brands continue to re-imagine classic formats such as sundae.

Here are some of the stand-out products hitting the shelves in recent weeks.

US dairy brand Horizon Organic has released three flavored coffee creamers as demand for the product category continues to grow.

Available in Homestyle Vanilla, Chantilly Sweet Cream, and Golden Caramel, the products contain only four ingredients – milk, cream, cane sugar and natural flavors – and are USDA certified organic.

Coffee creamers are the highest-growth segment in US refrigerated dairy over the past four years according to IRI data. This is because consumers are increasingly seeking products that can deliver a coffeehouse-style experience at home.

Sold in 48oz sharable tubs, key to the new releases is a formulation that ensures each scoop delivers the ideal amount of sauce.

The new sundae-inspired ice creams will be rolled out nationwide in the US in January.

Lifeway has experience in butter production through its subsidiary, Fresh Made Dairy, which will support the kefir brand’s efforts to scale the premium butter range in the future.

The company sees a growth niche in butter, with consumption having hit record levels in the US in 2025 and seeing sustainable demand in foodservice and across retail.

Premium European-style formats are popular with consumers, notably Irish brand Kerrygold, which has been the second best-selling branded butter in the US market for many years.
