Bel Brands USA to work with DFA on sustainable milk cooling program

Bel Brands USA has announced a new program in partnership with dairy cooperative Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) to implement and measure sustainable cooling practices designed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by reducing on-farm energy usage.

Crisis donations continue

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, US company Dairy West has launched Curds + Kindness, a program to direct surplus, nutrient-rich dairy foods to those who are hungry and unable to afford groceries throughout Idaho and Utah.

FrieslandCampina WAMCO made its donation in partnership with the Lagos State Government and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management and Social Development.

DFA to purchase a portion of Dean Foods’ assets for $433m

After several months of back and forth following the Dean Foods bankruptcy, the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) co-op is acquiring a majority of its assets for $433m. Prairie Farms Dairy will also get a portion for $75m.

DFA is re-evaluating its options to submit another bid by the deadline.
