Dannon, General Mills and Cabot have emerged victorious in a legal wrangle over the definition of ‘yogurt’ as the latest in a flurry of lawsuits alleging they used cheap ‘filler’ ingredients not permitted by the FDA has been dismissed.
Dannon has dismissed a class action lawsuit alleging that its Activia yogurts do not meet FDA-approved standards of identity as “poorly informed and frivolous”.
Yoplait yogurt brand owner General Mills has conducted its own
research into the healthy profile of the dairy product and is using
the results to spread further consumer awareness.
