US yogurt consumers have shown that their taste for Greek yogurt isn't waning after voting Chobani, Yoplait, Dannon and Stonyfield Farms amongst their favorite yogurt brands in the influential 2013 Harris Pool EquiTrend study.
General Mills' US yogurt brand Yoplait topped this year's table, knocking New York-based Greek yogurt giant Chobani off the top-spot.
Yoplait's yogurt range, which currently includes its Original, Light, Thick & Creamy, and Lactose-Free varieties, was given a facelift earlier this year with the launch of a new version of its Yoplait Greek range. Yoplait took the step after learning that "many consumers were not fully satisfied with the fruit on the bottom and aftertaste of its current Greek offering."
Does this leave Yoplait in a better position to keep Chobani off the top-spot next year?
The Harris Poll EquiTrend study is an annual brand study which analyses the opinions of around 38,000 US consumers on more than 1,500 brands across more than 150 industry categories.
This year, a total of 38,814 US consumers aged 15 plus were surveyed between 11 January 2013 and 8 February 2013.
