Egypt’s Beyti gets $44m EBRD loan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced a long-term loan of up to $44m to International Company for Agricultural Industries Projects (Beyti) JSC, an Egyptian company active in dairy and fruit juice processing.

Dairy industry disputes GRAIN report on global GHG emissions

International nonprofit GRAIN has revealed that the world’s top 10 dairy companies emitted roughly 231Mt (million tons) of CO2 in 2016, the equivalent of half of France’s total GHG footprint and a quarter of the emissions emitted by Germany.

Saputo to close Wisconsin cheese plant

Saputo Inc. has announced the closure of its cheese manufacturing facility in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, US, with the loss of 126 jobs.
