Mexican competition authorities have given the go ahead for Coca-Cola-owned juice maker, Jugos del Valle, to acquire Mexican dairy firm, Santa Clara.

Jugos del Valle, which is jointly owned by the Atlanta-based firm and the Mexican bottlers of Coca-Cola brand products, Coca-Cola FEMSA, looks set to complete the transaction for an undisclosed sum after the Mexican Federal Competition Commission approved the sale.

Santa Clara, which is based in the central Mexican city of Pachuca, manufactures a number of dairy products including milk, yogurt and ice cream.

The acquisition represents Coca-Cola’s latest attempt to expand its presence in the growing global dairy sector.
