The center, in Sant Cugat, near Barcelona, is a collaborative space for global food and consumer products (FCP) where customers can bring products to market more quickly and economically.
Dr. Helene Roberts, director, FCP Marketing & Innovation, KPG, said close collaboration with its customers is the key to success and the kp i.center can offer them a range of resources and expertise including a customer inspiration area, supermarket and kitchen.
“This will be a live space that will be constantly evolving. It’s somewhere we can showcase different category and product innovations to inspire new product developments,” she said.
“The idea is to demonstrate how packaging looks on a shelf or counter in store, emulating real consumer experiences for our customers.”
The kp i.center combines a dedicated area resourced with marketing, sales and R&D experts together with laboratory, prototyping facilities, a supermarket and an FCP market research center.
The laboratory includes several instruments for analyzing and creating different packaging and customers can make use of the form, fill, seal machine and thermosealers in the trial area.
