Finnish packaging company Jospak moves into new premises in Forssa this spring, with a new CEO, Janne Sokajärvi.

There are changes at the board of directors level as well, with the appointment of Juha Hellgren. There will also be other new staff hired at the facility.

Jospak and Forssan Yrityskehitys, a business development driver for the Forssa region, have entered into a lease agreement for the premises, which will allow the company to increase its production volumes. Founded in 2014, Jospak operated in its current facilities for five years.

An exhibition space for sales and marketing will also be built in the new premises, to enable the company to introduce the Jospak tray solution to customers and plan their packaging solutions – either remotely or on-site.  Over the next two years, the target market will be Finland and Northern Europe in particular, as currently 90% of the company’s products are exported.

Thanks to a packaging innovation developed by Jospak, a cardboard tray used in the food industry can only be covered with a thin plastic film.

The Jospak tray reduces the need for plastic by 85% compared to similar rigid plastic packaging and is suitable for existing packaging lines in the food industry.

“The EU 2030 circular economy objectives will bring significant new demands on food packaging materials, for which preparations must begin now. We are responding to this as, with the new facilities, we are able to produce ecological packaging on a larger scale. Jospak works strongly as part of a global solution,” said Sokajärvi.

Jari Stenberg, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jospak, is very pleased with the new reinforcement to the Board of Directors.

The new premises are located near the centre of Forssa, and Jospak said this offers good commuting routes for the Jospak staff.

“Jospak's business idea and product range support the strategy of the smart green city of Forssa as well as the themes of the circular economy and sustainable development. It has been great to follow Jospak's growth here in Forssa. Fortunately, we were able to offer them larger premises as operations grew,” said Riikka Riihimäki, CEO of Forssan Yrityskehitys.
