Arla Foods UK is launching a new co-branded Happy Meal and Arla Organic Milk bottle in McDonald’s UK restaurants.

The design of the 250ml bottles, which features the Arla logo alongside the golden arches, will be available in Happy Meals in more than 1,270 UK McDonald’s restaurants, reaching more than 5.5m customers per year.

Arla and McDonald’s have been working together for 30 years, with Arla supplying McDonald’s with organic milk since 2007 for its teas, coffees, porridge and Happy Meal milk bottles.

The partnership means Arla will provide more than 30m liters of organic milk to the restaurant chain this year in the UK.

Increased links

Arla said it is actively working to boost links between McDonald's and Arla farmer owners by identifying a specific group of farmers to work with to ensure that it meets welfare criteria for dairy cows.

Jonathan Dixon, vice president of food service, Arla Foods UK, said Arla has been working on a range of initiatives in recent months aimed at making its organic milk more accessible to consumers.

He said the company recently repositioned its branded organic milk as Arla Organic Milk to highlight ‘free range’ credentials.
