There have been several announcements of appointments at major companies in, or associated with, the dairy industry recently.

a2 Milk

The board of directors of The a2 Milk Company Limited has announced the appointment of Jayne Hrdlicka as managing director and CEO, to succeed Geoffrey Babidge who is retiring in 2018.

Hrdlicka was most recently employed for more than five years as CEO of the Jetstar Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qantas Limited, and also served as a non-executive director of Woolworths Limited during this time.

Given her current commitments, a2MC said Hrdlicka will take up the post around the start of 2019.

The company said Hrdlicka’s appointment follows the reorganization of responsibilities within the a2MC senior team during 2017 to further support the ongoing development of its businesses in Asia Pacific, including the appointment of Peter Nathan as chief executive Asia Pacific.

G. Willi-Food International Ltd., a global company based in Israel that specializes in the development, marketing and international distribution of kosher foods, including dairy products, announced today the appointment of Michael Luboschitz as its new CEO, effective January 1, 2018.

Luboschitz served since January 2012 as the VP commerce & sales of S. Schestowitz Ltd., an Israeli company which represents, imports, markets and distributes international and local brands in consumer goods and cosmetics.

Prior to that, from 2008 until December 2011, he served as chairman of the board of directors and CEO of MANA Ltd, an Israeli company founded by Luboschitz specializing in producing rice cakes, soup additives and a wide variety of salty snacks.

With shareholders recently approving a reduction in Westland’s board from 11 to eight (including a reduction in shareholder-elected directors from eight to five), and some current directors standing down, there was only one vacancy for Westland’s board this year.
