Danone’s La Serenísima brand is adding 0% fat and 2% fat milk to its range of fresh and long-life milk in Argentina, Paraguay, and beyond in response to "new trends".

Launched this month, the new SKUs and packaging redesign are “responding to the new trends and needs of today's consumers”, the company said.

According to Danone, the launch of a 0% fat milk in Argentina is a first for the country and will appeal to consumers for whom "saving calories at every meal is fundamental” and healthy eating is “a philosophy of life”.

The full range now includes 3% (Classic), 2% (Classic Lighter) and 1% (Light), and 0% (Low Calorie). All the milk products are fortified with vitamins A and D.

The 2% product […] is ideal for those looking for a balance between flavor and lightness. This fat content of 2% makes it lighter than our 'Classic' version, but keeps all the flavor and freshness of La Serenísima milk,” it said.

La Serenísima's whole and semi-skimmed milk are packaged in red and green while the new products will be branded with orange for 2% and blue for 0%.

All four fresh milk products are available in sachets. The 3% and 1% fat long-life milks are also available in bottles while the 3%, 2% and 1% long-life milks are also available in Tetra Pak cartons.

A spokesperson for the company said the products are currently being sold in Argentina and Paraguay while expanding the range to Uruguay and Bolivia are “in process”.
