Arla Foods Ingredients has developed a new protein shot concept consisting of whey protein for ‘athletes and gym-goers’. It debuted the idea at the Supply Side West show in Las Vegas last week to beverage manufacturers.
Because farmers are facing a tough financial situation, partly because of the Europe-wide drought, Arla Foods is proposing to give all 2018 net profits to farmers due to the positive development of Arla Foods’ balance sheet.
Arla is investing approximately €12m ($12.7m) to upgrade its AKAFA production site in northern Denmark, which will allow it to add infant milk formula (IMF) production to its existing powdered milk capacity.
Arla Food Ingredients says that, with sales of RTD beverages growing, dairy processors and soft drinks manufacturers can exploit the potential of high-protein RTD beverages with its new ingredient solution, Nutrilac WheyHi.
