New Zealand’s Fonterra Co-operative Group said it welcomes the appointment of Bao Xiufei to the role of general manager of Beingmate Baby & Child Food Co Ltd. Fonterra has an 18.8% share in the Chinese food company.

Greenpeace links Fonterra to Indonesian deforestation

A just-published Greenpeace investigation alleges that New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra Cooperative Group’s key supplier of palm kernel extract (PKE) has links to a huge expanse of deforestation in Indonesia.

Fonterra adds new beverage division

New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra is adding a new channel to its global foodservice business – Beverage House – to capitalize on what it says is an increased global demand for ‘adventurous’ tea and coffee drinks.

Fonterra using condensation to save water

Half a million liters of Pahiatua groundwater (equivalent to about 18 milk tanker loads) will be saved daily due to the development and installation of a reclaimed water system at the local Fonterra site.

Fonterra's products, such as Anmum, Fernleaf and Anchor, will now be available through Lazada to 560m consumers in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

New Zealand cooperative Fonterra, the world’s largest dairy exporter, is expanding its online presence to consumers in Southeast Asia for the first time through a new partnership with Lazada, an online shopping destination in the region.

Dairy industry disputes GRAIN report on global GHG emissions

International nonprofit GRAIN has revealed that the world’s top 10 dairy companies emitted roughly 231Mt (million tons) of CO2 in 2016, the equivalent of half of France’s total GHG footprint and a quarter of the emissions emitted by Germany.

Fonterra has published its first half results, with net profit after tax rising by 2%.

Fonterra ended the first half of its 2017 financial year with revenue up 5% to NZ9.2bn (US$6.5bn) on the same period last year, and net profit after tax up 2%.
