Food Union launches new ice cream products

Food Union, a global ice cream and dairy production and distribution group, is launching 17 new ice cream products in the family and dessert categories in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Belarus.

The company said that the brand Vilvi is the basis of its identity.

Vilkyškių Pieninė changes name to Vilvi Group

One of the largest cheese manufacturers and dairy processors in Lithuania, Vilkyškių Pieninė, has changed its name to Vilvi Group to reflect the company’s Vilvi brand.

It seems plain vanilla ice cream might soon be out of fashion in Lithuania, where chefs are experimenting with natural flavors, including plenty not normally associated with ice cream.

The cheese is named after the legendary Lithuanian giant, Džiugas.

Lithuanian cheese Džiugas, produced by Žemaitijos Pienas, has received a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) from the European Commission.

In 2017, approval was given for Lithuanian dairy products to be exported to Algeria, Mexico and New Zealand.
