Premium packaging
Packaging and marketing of floral-flavoured products also reflects the premium edge. New Zealand dairy Lewis Road has launched a small-batch ice cream with pure rose water in a gold striped tub.
"The first in a collection of botanically-inspired artisan ice creams [...] it is made, packed and labelled entirely by hand and in our beautiful gold striped tub it's sure to make an impression," says the company.
For further premiumisation, manufacturers are specifying the variety of flower used. US artisan chocolate manufacturer has a southern hibiscus and peach milk chocolate bar while Liberté launched a whole milk yoghurt made with French lavender extract.
