Veris Investments and FrieslandCampina invest in Holland Dairy Ethiopia
Dutch company Veris Investments and Royal FrieslandCampina have joined forces by investing in Holland Dairy PLC in Ethiopia.
Holland Dairy produces yogurt, pasteurized milk and other dairy products in its milk processing plant in Debre Zeit, about 40 kilometers south of the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
The company already holds a strong market presence in the Ethiopian dairy market, in particular in yogurt products. By investing in supply chain, production and market development Veris and FrieslandCampina aim to enhance and to extent this market presence.
FrieslandCampina already exports UHT under the Dutch Lady brand and milk powder under Coast brand to Ethiopia. The dairy cooperative said the minority investment will enable it to strengthen its current export position.
