Fomilk’s pistachio-based non-dairy milk
Turkey’s Fomilk makes almond, hazelnut, oat, coconut, soy and pistachio UHT milk as well as dairy-free spreads, and is working on a pudding dessert. The company has access to local nuts and cocoa, making the manufacturing of more premium dairy alternatives more cost-effective.
“There’s an abundance of pistachios in Turkey and we have some of the finest cocoa too,” said a company representative. “While dairy food is staple in Turkish cuisine, we can definitely see the demand and there’s also a global trend towards plant-based products, too. We believe we can offer something different, and our pistachio milk is very competitively-priced since we can source the nut locally.”
Fomilk also offers 200ml packs of hazelnut and chocolate milk for children, in addition to the 1L packs its milk is typically sold in. Also part of the portfolio are plant-based spreads – including mozzarella, cheddar and dill - and coconut-based cheeses that mimic cheddar and mozzarella.
