National ice cream month wraps up in the US

As July comes to a close, so too does another national ice cream month in the US. Brands celebrated with free samples and new flavor launches across the category.

Top 10 dairy brands: Yili closes gap on Danone

The latest Brand Finance Food & Drink 2019 report shows that, again, Switzerland’s Nestlé tops the food ranking, although its brand value increased by just 1% year on year to $19.6bn.

The new box, made from PE (polyethylene) coated cardboard, can be widely recycled in the UK.

Solero trials wrapper-less multipack ice cream

In the UK, Unilever has launched a trial of the first wrapper-less ice-cream multipack for its Solero Organic Peach product, with 35% less plastic compared to the original Solero Organic pack with individual plastic wrappers.

Unilever United States has launched Culture Republick, a light ice cream brand featuring live probiotic cultures. It gets Unilever deeper into the light ice cream game, departing from its more traditional brands like Ben & Jerry’s.

HUL currently markets ice creams and frozen desserts under the Kwality Wall’s and Magnum brands.

Hindustan Unilever to acquire Adityaa Milk ice cream business

In India, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced it has signed an agreement with Vijaykant Dairy and Food Products Limited (VDFPL) and its group company to acquire its ice cream and frozen desserts business consisting of its brand Adityaa Milk.

Wageningen University's campus will house Unilever's R&D centre from 2019 onwards.
