New figures released in the annual Bord Bia Export Performance and Prospects report 2020/2021 show exports of Irish food, drink and horticulture to the UK declined by 5% in 2020, with a value of €4.3bn/$5.2bn (compared to €4.5bn/$5.5bn in 2019).

The three-year plan expects a significant growth in turnover in the 2021-2024 period, with a corresponding improvement in margins.

Bega Cheese confirms Lion Dairy & Drinks acquisition

Bega Cheese Limited said it has entered into a binding share sale and purchase agreement to acquire all of the shares in Lion Dairy & Drinks from Japan’s Kirin Holdings for a net acquisition price of A$534m (US$393m).

The Codex General Standard for the Use of Dairy Terms (CXS 206-1999) was adopted by Codex Alimentarius in 1999.
