Lactalis Canada buying Agropur's Canadian yogurt business

Lactalis Canada Inc., formerly Parmalat Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Lactalis Group, has reached an agreement with Agropur Cooperative to acquire all shares of its Canadian yogurt business, Ultima Foods Inc.

The award-winning cheese OKA L'Artisan Smoke is an Agropur product.

Job losses at Agropur due to coronavirus

Canadian dairy company Agropur has eliminated 60 jobs and temporarily laid off another 200 as the company said its priority is to maintain its dairy manufacturing and distribution operations, which constitute an essential public service.

Agropur signs waste management deal with Cascades

Canada’s Agropur Cooperative is introducing a program to recover inorganic waste at its 28 Canadian plants, in partnership with Cascades. The large-scale circular-economy project is a first in the Canadian dairy industry.

The facility manufactures fresh, extended shelf-life and aseptic dairy products for grocery store chains and organic milk brands.

Agropur in talks with Quebec Goat Milk Producers

Just two months after Agropur announced it will close its goat cheese-producing plant in Saint-Damase, it has engaged in discussions with Quebec Goat Milk Producers about an undisclosed deal.
