MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM DAIRYREPORTER.COM
August
On August 7, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced a one-year ban on the import of beef, pork, poultry, fruit, vegetables, cheese and milk from the European Union (EU), US, Australia, Canada and Norway.
Lactose-free milk, lactose-free dairy products, and protein concentrates were among several items later removed from the blacklist.
Before the month was out, the European Commission (EC) announced it would provide private storage aid (PSA) for butter, skim milk powder (SMP), and cheese to alleviate the impact of the Russian embargo.
